4. How does a school-home connection (based on environmental print) impact students' literacy development?

The relationship between school and home is very important for the teacher, parents and children to improve children's skills. Parent is the key components to the overall literacy development of a child prior to formal education. If I will talk about who does a school and home connection impact children's literacy development, I will start with what the teacher give the children learn and how parent know what the children will learn about in each week. For example: the teacher should send the week plan for parents every week so, it helps them to know what they will learn and what they should do. In addition, teacher can practice with the children the sight words every day because I think that is very important for the children in literacy.
Furthermore, the teacher can advise the parent reading the story with their children because reading is play a big role in literacy. Also, parents should help their children to love reading and writing by let them to draw and them they can ask their children to explain their draw as a story. According to my experience, one of the teacher made a book "my story" and each day she give one child to draw the story and next day he/she come to show other children what he/she have done to tell them the story. Finally, teacher can give the parent a workshop about how they can help their children to improve their reading and writing skills.
